Charles McArthur Coaching and Consulting evolved from a journey of self-discovery that started back in 1998.  As a backpacker residing in London. To be more precise, after 10 years I wanted a change from the hotel industry. For a while at least 

Venturing into sales..

Leaving a management position with Inter-Continental Hotels, I began a career in sales. This is also the time I was introduced to the ideas of Jim Rohn, Zig Ziglar & Og Mandino and spent the next 8 years enjoying the challenge of Personal Development.

Initially selling cookware to West Africans residing in London on a commission only arrangement.  After that advertising for London based Cornhill Publications, a business to business Publishing House and finally Corporate Events for the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington.

By 2000, I felt it was time to go home and up on returning to Melbourne. I joined Bartercard, then Xerox and finally Pacific Rim Financial Services.  Within a year I was appointed as the Sales Manager for a Pacific Rim Financial Services, a company on Queens Road in Melbourne selling investment properties.

During 2000 & 2001 “Charlie” was introduced to the field of Neuro Linguistic Programming. After this his natural ability to relate and understand people really matured and flourished.

Back in hospitality

In 2003, after relocating  to the Gold Coast in Queensland I began a new life and an old career. Back in hospitality working for the renowned Sheraton Grande Mirage Resort in Main Beach as a hotel porter. Starting from the bottom again and five promotions later success again, an appointment to the position of Rooms Division Manager. Working within the Front Office and Housekeeping Departments , overseeing 100+ employees and a seat on the Executive Committee.

By 2014,  I was happily married to my  Japanese wife and had a small family. The continued success at Sheraton resulted in an offer to move to the RACV Royal Pines Resort to take up a new challenges. During the 4 years of high achievement with the RACV, I’d initiated a Mentoring Program to provide an accelerated fast track development to up and coming High Potential employees.

A new company is born..

It was during this period that I’ve realised my true calling and deep passion for assisting others to reach their full potential. And so, the beginning of 2019 saw me resigning from the senior position with the RACV and start again. This time a brand new adventure, striking out on my own and the launch of a Coaching and Consultancy business.

I am still on the Gold Coast, happily married to Kaori and the family had grown too. Sakura our eldest is now 9 & Joe 6. In my spare time, you can find me swimming laps in the pool, getting creative in the music studio or with a book to see if there is anything else I could learn, something else that could benefit others.
